Video Game Relfection

TECHNICAL

I learned how games are created, and how to edit them.

IDEA OR CONCEPT

My idea for this game was about homophobia, and it was trying to show how homosexual people will not hurt you, or make you "lose" the game.

INFLUENCES

No particular person or thing influenced me for this game, I did, however, use some celebrities that are homosexuals.

COMPOSITION

I tried to make the "poles" (the celebrities) as equal in size as I could.

MOTIVATION

I just wanted to complete the assignment.

CRITICAL ASSESSMENT

I would try to change the bird if I had more time, as it wasn't working when I was trying.

Animation Reflection

TECHNICAL

I learned how to animate, as I didn't know how to before

IDEA OR CONCEPT

I turned my ball into a flower, because I really like flowers and I thought it would be cool to experiment on it.

INFLUENCES

No one influenced me for this project.

COMPOSITION

My eyes seem to travel wherever the ball drops, they also look at the background because I thought I made the clouds pretty and realistic.

MOTIVATION

My motivation for this assignment was wanting to try something new, I had never animated before this so I wanted to complete this task to prove to myself that you can do something if you have your mind set on it.

CRITICAL ASSESSMENT

I think the most successful part of this assignment was the squish when my ball hit the ground and there was some cute little sound effects. No parts of this process surprised me, I found it sometimes tricky, however. If I had additional time, I would possibly make it longer, and make my flower more realistic.

Brainstorming for Art Game

Homophobia

-Flappy Bird Game: Have a bunch of guys and girls that look "gay" and have the bird be scared of them and like screaming
-Memory Game: Match up the girls with the girls and the boys with the boys

Racism
-Memory Game: match up the situation with the famous person ex. Martin Luther King with black rights

Abuse

-Flappy Bird: You could have the bird flying through hands and once it lands on it, the hands squish the bird

Toy Reflection

1. If my toy was to be boxed and sold, it would be marketed as a disappearing childhood. The rose symbolizes my favourite flower, (if I painted it white), Dora represents my obsession with her as a child, the fur around the neck represents my first dog that died, the bows represent my love for them, the horse represents my fear for them.

2. I like the rose the best on my toy, because it shows the beauty in my toy. I like the hair the least on my toy because its greasy. If I were to redo this project, I would shave off the hair.
